Maintenance/Shift Fitter – Acacia Ridge

Pipemakers Australia is a leading manufacturer and supplier of PVC and PE piping to the construction, mining and building industries.

An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time qualified Maintenance/Shift Fitter to join our team in Acacia Ridge, QLD.

In this role you will be responsible to ensure the plastic extrusion equipment and machinery is properly maintained and operating efficiently, whilst considering costs and the production schedule. The position requires a good understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance. With a strong focus on safety, quality, uptime and preventative maintenance.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to help others
• Trouble shooting and fault-finding unplanned breakdowns in a timely manner
• Undertaking industrial repairs and preventative maintenance
• Monitor, follow up and address issues associated with the implementation and progress of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
• Continuous improvement/repairs of plant/equipment and systems
• Ensure the safe and correct operation of machinery, while minimising downtime and quality issues
• Adhere to all OH&S, Environmental and Quality procedures, policies and work standards

Skills and experience:

• Trade qualified – Cert IV in Mechanical Trade - Essential
• Strong welding/fabrication skills (MIG, TIG welding)
• Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience, relating to maintenance, within an industrial environment
• Exposure to the PVC and PE Pipe industry - Preferred
• Experience in mechanical installations, fault finding, repairs & maintenance and work management practices
• Ability to multi-task in a quick setting with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills within a collaborative team working environment
• Ensuring adherence to company EH&S polies and procedures
• Sound computer literacy skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

This is a fantastic opportunity with an attractive remuneration package which is negotiable based on your qualifications and experience. You must have an unrestricted Australian work permit.
